the despicable collection
Illumination and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment wanted to produce a collectible package that housed all four Minion movies - Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, Despicable Me 3, and Minions. Their goal was to provide the customer with something they would like to display on their shelves.
I was inspired by the numerous costumes the Minions wore in the movies, and wanted to showcase them in a fun and playful way. In this mix’n’match set, the viewer is encouraged to interact and swap around the top and bottom slipcovers to discover all of the possible combinations. The bold colors are vibrant and make the graphic Minions stand out.

Another concept I pitched is to have the structure feature the Minions’ iconic outfit – their overalls. On the outside, their embroidered Gru patch could be detached from the packaging and used as a pin. The inside of the structure would showcase the various types of overalls that the Minions wore in each respective movie.
